History

Emperor Maximilian I is known as the last knight. German king from 1486 and emperor from 1508, he repeatedly used Füssen as a place of stay. The town benefited from trade, encounters and its strategic location on the Lech.

Today's events use this era as atmosphere. The focus is market life, crafts, music and camp groups in Von-Freyberg-Park; the old town adds the historic setting. This history forms the background for Füssen in the Renaissance and the Medieval Market Füssen.
